Thank you for your interest in our organization. Jefferson Youth Foundation, Inc., (JYFI) founded in 1992, is committed to improving the lives of children and families in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, by providing them with outstanding educational, cultural, social and health services through the establishment of community/social services programs. To advance Louisiana, Jefferson Youth Foundation, Inc. seeks to strengthen the community by endorsing initiatives that advocate for children and their families. JYFI opened its doors to the community in September, 1993, and later began providing services to a population of 100 children in Marrero, LA. Since that time, we have served over 1700 children and more than 400 adults. Our offerings include academic assistance, enrichment activities and structured recreation. We provide these services through after-school programs, summer camps, and parent education.
We have garnered over $3.5 million dollars in funds to provide these services to Jefferson Parish Public School students and families for almost two decades. These funds have included support from 21st CCLC, TANF, Gov. Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities, LA Public Health Institute, LA Children's Trust Fund, NIKE, Target, the Wallace Foundation in New York, the Afterschool Partnership, the Arts Council of New Orleans and many others.
